| Harvard Public Library is embarking on a major
construction project as it renovates an 1887 school building
and adds a new extension to create an expanded library
facility. The design team of Margaret Coyle-Nestler and
Polly Reeve are developing a concept plan to integrate the
expanded structure into the landscape; they will also
suggest community-oriented programming for the new library’s
six acres. Mendon-Upton Library District – A
large tract of land was donated to the community for a new
library and supporting landscape. Landscape Institute
design students, under the direction of instructor Jean
Cavanaugh, created visionary master plans which honored the
history of the land as agricultural and suggested curriculum
and meditative opportunities. >
